Wedding Wednesday - 50 Pounds of ChocolateI can't believe this is my last Wedding Wednesday post. I think I'm already having withdrawal. But if I must end this wonderful wedding series, I'll do it with a bang! How does 50 pounds of chocolate sound?
Gone are the days when we'd fill our massive wall units with chachkies from baptisms, communions, sweet 16's and weddings. We just don' have the space! Today's wedding guests don't need another crystal bowl, another picture fame with a photo of the couple or a bunch of multi-colored candied almonds they can chip a tooth on. Give the people a wedding favor they can actually do something with. Something to plant or something yummy to safely eat. For my event I naturally I opted for CHOCOLATE! I happened to be great friends with the most amazing chocolatier in Bay Ridge, Kelly Graham and she went all out for my guests. She gifted me the most incredible solid chocolate champagne bottles. I mean I literally died when I saw the 50 pound box of chocolate she was working with.
The chocolate bottle tops were wrapped in gold foil. Affixed to them were custom edible labels that I helped design. Over 65 solid chocolate champagne bottles were hand tied with a corresponding gold ribbon and preserved in cellophane for my guests to enjoy. Kelly went above and beyond for me and my "I Do, Take Two" and I will forever be grateful.
I have one champagne bottle left that will never be consumed by anyone, neatly tucked away in my freezer because I'm a weirdo like that.
